Mission Statement: Wells County Community Corrections program strives to provide supervised work sites within the county so that low-risk offenders can complete court ordered community service or restitution as an alternative to detention. Community Service Program: Convicted offenders are placed with a non-profit or governmental agency in the county to serve a specific number of court ordered hours. Work Program: Offenders are placed with an agency in the county to "work off" their assessed fees. Offenders will receive credit at a set rate per hour for every hour worked, however, no offender will receive a monetary sum. Referrals: Referral sources may include, but are not limited to, municipal and district courts, juvenile court, juvenile services, and district parole and probation offices. The offender is required to contact the acting coordinator to make arrangements for completion of hours. The offender is required to pay a program fee before being allowed to perform community service. Termination: The acting coordinator will determine termination from the program based upon the offender's ability to abide by written guidelines. Program
